YOGA FOR RUNNERS

with Tara S. Comer


This customized class focuses on strength, flexibility and recovery for all runners. This class will decrease muscle stiffness and increase range of motion while reducing the risk of injury. Students will work progressively from the ground up building a strong foundation by strengthening the feet and ankles and stretching the hams and hips. You will generate energy and stability from your pelvis and core, and tap into your peak zone by syncing breath and movement

This class will help runners of all levels:
  • Improve strength-stretch-stability by practicing run-specific sequences
  • Practice poses that enhance running form and technique
  • Improve focus and body awareness
  • Discover your edge with Peak Performance visualizations
  • Increase lung capacity through Breathing Techniques
  • Practice in a warmed room for muscles relaxation

E-RYT-200, USAT Triathlon Coach

Tara Comer, E-RYT 200, is a USA Triathlon Certified Coach and yoga teacher. She has been an endurance athlete for over 15 years and a practicing yogini for over a decade.

Tara is known for her inspiring and creative teaching and coaching style that uses a mindful and holistic approach to serve her athletes and students.  Tara’s practice marries her knowledge of anatomy and physiology to a spiritual presence- tapping into the power and grace of the body-mind connection.

Tara continues to strengthen her practice as a student and teacher as she practices and collaborates with innovative teachers around the country. She is currently pursuing a 500hr certification through Shiva Rea’s Prana Flow program and an advanced certification through USAT.
