When trying a yoga class, men may not feel very flexible. Continuing to practice yoga brings fluid to stiffening joints, loosens tight ligaments and can even release gravity-induced stress in the spine. Each class in this 8-week series will include deep controlled breath work (pranayama), meditation and physical poses (asana) which pay attention to areas where men need extra attention, such as hips and shoulders. All body types and all skill levels are welcome. Although this class is tailored to the male body all genders are welcome to join!

Jon Leaver

RYT 200

Jon began attending Bikrams yoga in the Summer of 2004 and was hooked.  He began studying Vinyasa yoga with Tricia MacDonald in Dartmouth before being encouraged to pursue a teaching certification.

Jon has now completed his 200 hours RYT at Eyes of the World in Providence and is certified by the Yoga Institute of America.  He has studied with Tom Gillette & Shannah Greene and has attended anatomy workshops with Judith Lassiter and Ed Cardinal.

Jon's relaxed style of teaching will put you at ease.  He will have you laughing one moment and become very focused in the next. He says "As my yoga practice grew, I became more aware of relationship...with others, within myself, within the community."
