Are you relatively new to yoga? Have you made a start at yoga but found that you weren't feeling confident in your practice? Take the stress out of your yoga experience. This weekly class will build on your foundation for a strong and confident yoga practice.  This class welcomes all students who are relatively new to yoga practice, or have never take  a class taught in the Iyengar method.  

The Iyengar method of teaching has an emphasis on the precise alignment of yoga postures, known as asanas. The teacher uses clear language, demonstration of actions, and props to help the student develop an intelligent understanding of the body, mind, and breath. The teacher's focus on the alignment of your body will help you feel confident you've got it right.

Alignment YogaThe Iyengar method of teaching has an emphasis on the precise alignment of yoga postures, known as asanas. The teacher uses clear language, demonstration of actions, and props to help the student develop an intelligent understanding of the body, mind, and breath. This class is geared towards students with experience, so if you are brand new to yoga or haven't taken a class taught in the Iyengar method, please contact the instructor at christychase@cox.net.

Continuing Yoga - Level 2 is designed for students who have been practicing yoga for a year or more and are ready to build their skillfulness, deepen their self-knowledge, and broaden their comprehension of yoga.

MAT, Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher

Christy is the mother of two boys, and feels the presence of yoga as a welcome oasis in a busy life. As a school teacher, she works hard to meet the individual needs of her students, and carries that practice in her yoga teaching. She loves teaching in the beautiful space at Breathing Time Yoga, and does so with integrity and humor.

After 19 years practicing yoga and many years of study, Christy, has successfully attained the title of Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher.  Perhaps the most intensive yoga teacher training in the US, becoming a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher requires years of practice, study and a rigorous examination of skills.
