Renew, Restore, Rebuild

The Heart of Yoga in the Heart of Winter

with Aggie Stewart, MA, RYT

Many of us find our energy flagging as the mid-winter doldrums start to settle in towards the end of January.  We seem to move more sluggishly through our days as our regular activities appear to take more energy than usual to complete. And once the sun sets, so, too, can our motivation to do even those things we most enjoy and that return energy to us.

The yoga tradition has long recognized this very human condition in the winter months and recommends practices that seek to renew, restore, and rebuild energy until the days grow longer, brighter, and warmer.

The Heart of Yoga in the Heart of Winter is a five-week series intended to help you renew, restore, and rebuild your energy with practices designed to be at once relaxing and enlivening. This gentle yoga series will incorporate mild heart opening and balancing postures along with supported postures that are held for longer periods of time.  As always, we’ll work with the breath and explore the powerful role our breath plays in affecting our energy through the day and our sleep at night.
